Who we are
We are based in the beautiful town of Somerset West in the Western Cape, South Africa, surrounded by breathtaking mountains, vineyards and sea. Merand Corbett & Associates was established in 1990 as an independent, owner managed recruitment partnership between Linda Merand and Lesley Corbett. Since then, the company has grown significantly, establishing a reputation for the structuring and delivery of successful recruitment solutions to a comprehensive and diverse client base. Linda bought Lesley out in 2001 and in 2023 handed over the business to her daughter, Lauren Cronje. To honour its past legacy while also signaling a fresh new season, the name of the business was changed to Merand Recruitment in 2024.

Our recruiting process ensures our client has the right people with the necessary skills and abilities to achieve its future growth plans. We accomplish this by conducting thorough job analyses to understand the skills, qualifications, and character required for the position.

Contract
Whether you need to temporarily replace a bookkeeper on parental leave, or hire a technology contractor who can start immediately, a freelance marketing specialist or someone to step in on an executive level during transition, our contract services are ideal. We know how important it is for your business to continue without disruption when faced with temporary talent gaps.
If you want to avoid onboarding the temporary talent onto your payroll, Merand can set up the contract and pay them on your behalf. Send us your scope and we we’ll curate your team as soon as possible.
Permanent
We understand the gap when the staffing team can’t keep up with the business growth, when staff suddenly departs or a new skilled individual is needed, we respond quickly to our clients demand and work collaboratively to fill the gap. Ensuring we have qualified the specification of the position, our consultants give it their all to find suitable candidates. Maximizing our avenues and networks, we ensure that through the journey we cover all processes with excellence until the right candidate is found.
